Featuring bike rides on the flanks of the Arenal Volcano, kayak trips into the remote waterways of Tortuguero National Park and a one-day white water rafting trip on the exciting Pacuare River.
Day 1 : Arrive San José
Arrive at the Juan Santamaria International Airport. (No meals)
Day 2 : San José / Tilajari Resort Hotel
Drive to Tilajari Resort (4 hours). Afternoon bike ride (10.4 miles) in Arenal Volcano area. Overnight at Tilajari Resort. (B,L,D)
Day 3 : Tilajari Resort / Arenal Volcano
Ride from Arenal Volcano, 1,625 feet above sea level, down to Tilajari, 211 feet above sea level (33.5 miles). Excellent views of Arenal Volcano (weather permitting). Stop at Hidalgo Hot Springs for lunch and a soak. Continue riding after lunch. Overnight at Tilajari Resort. (B,L,D)
Day 4 : Tilajari / Tortuguero
Drive from Arenal to the North Atlantic Coast with your Spanish-speaking driver and Multisport Guide for a 1.5 hour boat ride to Tortuguero. Overnight at Tortuga Lodge. (B,L,D)
Day 5 : Tortuguero
Guided kayak tour on the creeks of Tortuguero National Park. Afternoon free. Overnight at Tortuga Lodge. (B,L,D)
Day 6 : Tortuguero / Pacuare River Class III-IV
Depart early from Tortuga Lodge in boat to Limon (2.5 hours). Your van will be waiting to take you to the put-in on the Pacuare River (2 hour drive). Lunch on the riverbank. Arrive at the take-out by mid afternoon and return to San José (2 drive). Dinner and overnight at El Rodeo Hotel. (B,L,D)
Day 7 : Departure
Transfer to the International Airport, arriving about two hours before your flight's scheduled departure time. (No meals)
